He is irrational to the point of obsession about Henry, although he pretends Henry is nothing more than his "kind of weird" twin brother. He needs Henry to exist, at this point, so if someone fucks with Henry, they fuck with Edward.

Edward is not as forgiving as Henry. Edward is every bad influence and terrible thought Henry has ever had all rolled up into one smirking package. He is dangerous, has no capacity for mercy, and knows how to cover his tracks.
